Wow another exciting year has flown by already. The cubs section currently have 31 members in the pack with a 95% attendance rate every week.
The last 12 months have been a roller coast ride for cubs who has continued to develop their skills as well as being able to gain new ones. Cubs have also been working towards earning more badges by completing all the challenges set upon them.
In May 2012, 18 cubs attended the Family Camp at Thriftwood campsite where they took part in various activities such as archery, Laser Tag, Water Zorbing, Cresta Run, and many more.
In June 2012 14 cubs joined by 2 beavers had an excellent weekend at the cubs and beavers fun days held at Gilwell Park Activity Centre. Cubs took part in various activities, enjoyed lots thrilling rides, face painting and also completed their DIY badge, Hiking badge and Camping badge.
In December 2012, 21 Cubs took part in an great Winter Camp weekend at PGL Lidding- ton. They completed some high energy activity like Zip Wire, Climbing, Quad Bike, Abseiling, Fencing as well as enjoying a great early Christmas feast at the Christmas party.
As well as lots of camping trips, cubs also took part in an indoor games evening, the Remembrance Parade and the district Scientist badge day.
Phew! What a year cubs have had but what did they enjoyed the most? Here are a few quotes taken from them as part of their I.T. Badge.
Shannon Guest wrote: “I have enjoyed everything at cubs
especially going to all camping trips. Sledging was absolutely fun and so was Quad biking. I have enjoyed making new friends at cubs”
Ollie Martyn enjoyed making pancakes and learning new skills at part of the martial arts badge. He also commented “we all went to the Snow Centre and the best part was when I fell off the snow board, rolled to the bottom and someone crashed into me”.
Kirsty Young enjoyed PGL camp especially 3G swing and making new friends
Dylan Saunders enjoyed the Martial Arts Badge Night, Jack C enjoyed the Indoor games and
Freddie enjoys making new friends. Dylan Swift enjoyed the Dragon Boat Camp weekend.
Jadon Isayas wrote “I have enjoyed the camp the most because the food was delicious, the activities were fun and the entertainment was fabulous”.
Amelie Hogan enjoyed the PGL winter camp and wrote “the best thing I did was the massive swing, it was so terrifying”. Ben Cousins enjoyed the fireworks night
